The ESP guitar company has evolved since 1975 from a small store that sells guitar parts to a mayor cooperation that produces and sells guitars, basses and signature guitars of some of the best guitar players from all over the world. After that the market expands fast. The ESP guitar company becomes better known and the signature guitar series expand fast. In 2006 Alexi Laiho guitars hit the market. Alexi Laiho, lead singer and guitarist in the band Children of Bodom has released a series of signature Alexi Laiho guitars that consists of 5 different models, naming: the alexi-200, alexi-600-scythe, alexi-600-blacky, alexi-scythe and alexi-blacky.

Specifications that all signature alexi laiho guitars have in comment are a neck-thru body (except for the alexi-200 that has a bolt-on), a thin U neck shape with a 42 mm neck width, Black Nickel hardware and locking nut.
